BuyMap FAQ

Type what you're after into the search bar and go. You can search by product name, or by a UPC, ISBN, or eBay Product ID if you have one. Pick a result and BuyMap opens a single page with every current eBay listing for that exact item. Add your ZIP code so each price includes shipping to you. No account needed to start.

You can start without one. The daily limit counts the product pages you open, not your searches or category browsing, which are always free.

• Guest: 10 product views a day, with every filter included.
• Free account: 20 product views a day, plus 3 price alerts.
• Premium: 100 product views a day, plus 30 price alerts checked hourly.

Each listing shows the item price plus shipping to your ZIP as one total, so you compare what you'd actually pay at the door rather than the sticker price alone. Enter your ZIP once and it applies to every listing. BuyMap also shows the median total across current listings, which is a quick way to tell whether a price is fair or a bargain.

It gathers every current eBay listing for one specific item into a single sortable table, with shipping to your ZIP added to each price so you compare real totals. You sort and filter that pool in place instead of clicking through scattered search results. Each product has its own link you can bookmark or share, and it always loads the current listings.

All the listings load into your browser at once, so the results update the moment you click a filter, with no page reloads. You can narrow by:

• Condition (the exact conditions present in the listings)
• Buying format (Buy It Now, Auction, or Best Offer)
• Seller location (domestic or international)
• Listing age (how recently it was posted)
• Seller rating (a minimum positive-feedback percentage)

BuyMap leaves out listings that usually aren't what you came for: bulk lots, items sold for parts or marked broken, and listings that don't actually match the product. Nothing is deleted, it's just set aside. You can review what was set aside, and the reason for each, on the Hidden Listings page.

Four. BuyMap auto-detects which one you've typed, or you can pick from the dropdown:

• Product name for a normal keyword search.
• UPC or EAN, the barcode number on a product. This matches one exact item, with no spelling or naming guesswork.
• ISBN for books, 10 or 13 digits, to land on the exact edition.
• EPID, eBay's own product ID, when you already have one.

On a phone or tablet, yes. Choose UPC, tap the camera icon in the search bar, and point it at the barcode; it fills in the number for you. Your browser asks for camera permission the first time. You can always type the number instead.

BuyMap is built for finding one specific item that several sellers offer, so it works best on things with a barcode or an eBay catalog entry: video games, movies, music, books, electronics, trading cards, sealed board games. It's not the tool for one-of-a-kind or handmade items, or for open-ended browsing, since there's no single catalog entry for listings to gather around.

Watch any product for a price you'd actually pay, and BuyMap emails you when a new listing shows up at or under that total, shipping included. You set one up from the "Set a price alert" button on a product page; it remembers the filters you had set (condition, location, seller rating) so it only emails listings you'd want. It watches for newly listed items, not price changes on listings that are already up. Manage everything on the My Alerts page.

Two things. A BuyMap alert is tied to the exact product and to your target total with shipping, so a listing that merely shares a keyword won't trigger it and the number you set is the real to-your-door price. And on Premium, alerts are checked hourly instead of once a day, so you hear about a new listing sooner. Like eBay's saved searches, BuyMap alerts watch for newly listed items rather than price drops on existing ones.

Each seller's positive-feedback percentage is color-coded so you can read the table at a glance:

• Green for 98% or higher
• Amber for 95 to 97%
• Red for below 95%
• Neutral for new sellers, or sellers with feedback but no current rating

BuyMap isn't eBay and doesn't sell anything; it's a comparison layer over eBay's public listings.
