Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film of 2000, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon comes to the PlayStation 2 console as an action game featuring the aerobatic moves and rhythmic swordplay as witnessed in the Ang Lee-directed film. Taking place in 19th century China, two warriors skilled in the Wudan style of martial arts are brought together to determine the fate of a sword called the Green Destiny. After it is stolen by a young female ninja, the characters vow to recapture it at all costs. Players will explore the following environments from the film as they prepare to engage enemies as Li Mu Bai, Yu Shu Lien, Jen Yu, or Lo: the bamboo forest, waterfall, bar room, Governors Palace, and streets of Beijing. Each character offers distinct moves, abilities, and weapons while fighting in the streets, on rooftops, in water, and atop trees. Players can run, climb, hang, jump, block, dodge, and use combo attacks in their pursuit of the evil Jade Fox and quest to recover the fabled sword. The story unfolds with cut-scenes featuring Mandarin dialogue with English subtitles, like the U.S. release of the film.
