Pinobee (Sony PlayStation 1, 2003)

Product Specs
Description
Introduced to Japanese and American Game Boy Advance players in 2001's Pinobee: Wings of Adventure, the cute robotic bee makes his second appearance as he buzzes his way onto the PlayStation console. This version of Pinobee follows the same storyline as the GBA edition, as the literally heartless hero searches for his creator, Grandpa Bee, and saves the insect kingdom from a marauding army of robots unleashed by the evil Vestor. Players manipulate Pinobee in this side-scrolling adventure as he jumps, walks, crouches, hovers, pushes, dashes, and climbs from stage to stage, gathering power-ups, solving puzzles, and collecting movies, bonus items, and gallery art. Depending on Pinobee's actions in the game, one of several possible Ending Movies is eventually unlocked. Collecting all of the Ending Movies unlocks special graphics in the Art Gallery. Ten stages include the Cozy Forest, which introduces moves and rules, Cheerful Flower, Gloomy Road, Underground Prison, Windy Valley, Restless Village, Lazy Kingdom, Robot Factory, In the Tummy, and a final, secret level. Collecting 16 items of one color (blue, pink, or orange) will increase Pinobee's life meter, defense, or energy, decrease his enemies skills, and unlock a King and Queen who then appear randomly within a stage. Gathering all 18 items earns a mystery bonus. Along with his thoughts and comments, clues and hints appear in Pinobee's diary that show information about missed items, events, and whether all "Golden Enemies" were defeated. Stages, once finished, can be replayed using the diary information as a guide to attain 100 percent completion.
