Description

An Xbox exclusive, Furious Karting earns its name for its emphasis on madcap driving from behind the wheel of a miniature go-kart. Two opposing clans, TNT and the Yellow Sharks, each attempt to prove their driving prowess by beating their rivals on city streets, inside shopping malls, and more. Each clan consists of four characters with individual ratings in the areas of fun, speed, and karma. "Fun" is the ability to perform stunts, and "speed" measures a go-kart's top velocity, while "karma" influences how other characters react to aggressive behavior during a race. Four game modes consist of Scenario, Quick Race, Time Attack, and Multiplayer. Scenario has players advancing through a series of races in four different classes: Amateur, Rookie, Pro, and SuperKart, with the latter offering the fastest vehicles in the game. New circuits and racing categories can be unlocked with top performances, and players are free to adjust their kart's gear and seat position before each race for improved acceleration or grip. Also found along the courses are a series of six power-ups, including nitros, red smoke, blasts (for acceleration), oil, chickens (to slow down rivals), and flammable glue, with two more waiting to be unlocked. Quick Race lets players choose the number of racers, laps, and their starting grid position on any unlocked course earned from Scenario mode. Time Attack has racers trying to beat a course's record while competing against a phantom driver, with bonuses awarded for finishing within the reference time. Multiplayer mode supports up to four players in two game variants: Classic Mode and Jam Battle Mode. Classic is a traditional race on any available course, while Jam Battle is a form of tag with players hunting down a hidden CD and trying to maintain possession of it for as long as possible.
