Description
Developed by the same company responsible for F-Zero: Maximum Velocity on Game Boy Advance, Tube Slider is a futuristic racing game with the distinguishing element of steering a craft from inside a tube. Each event is a three-lap race held on ten twisting tracks, where players not only travel along the ground, but also zip around 360 degrees to pass rival vehicles or to avoid potential obstructions. Fifteen vehicles are available to choose from, eight of which are initially selectable, with each vessel possessing distinct attributes in speed, handling, and acceleration. Players can unlock the remaining vehicles by placing first on each of the tracks, which may require the use of turbo boosts to blast ahead of the competition. Four-player simultaneous racing is also supported using a split-screen perspective. Replays at the end of each race show the swirling action from several different angles for a cinematic effect.
