Presented in the style of a modern action movie, Maximum Chase casts players in the role of policeman Rick Summers, who is investigating a mysterious woman who is being pursued by dangerous strangers. Two modes of play offer high-speed car chases and chaotic shooting sequences, set in the streets of a virtual Los Angeles. Detailed graphics, real-time vehicle damage, and licensed cars from Chevy, Nissan, and Lexus, are included to add authenticity. Another notable feature of Maximum Chase comes into play when there are breaks in the action. Once a mission is completed (or failed, for that matter), a computer-generated replay of the race is generated, making use of cuts, pans, and camera angles for a cinema-style presentation.
