Sony's own 989 Sports returns to the gymnasiums and arenas of the nation's colleges and universities for this "2004" entry into its PS- and PS2-exclusive NCAA Final Four series. As in previous versions of the annual college basketball title, gamers can choose from over 300 Division IA teams and set their sights on the March championship. "Practice" and "Dynasty" modes return, as does the rags-to-riches "Career" mode introduced in the previous year's version of the game. Graphics have been improved and controls tweaked, but the biggest enhancement to this year's game may be the addition of online support. Like other "2004" sports games from 989, NCAA Final Four 2004 can be played online, through the PS2 Network Adaptor and an Internet connection. Features such as roster updates, tournaments, message boards, and a constantly updated sports ticker help complete the real-time, connected experience.
