World Series Baseball 98 (Sega Genesis, 1997)

Product Specs
Description
World Series Baseball 98, the fourth game in Sega's popular baseball series, offers a 1997 Major League Baseball schedule with 28 teams based on the 1996 season. Twenty-seven statistical categories are now tracked with League Leaders, Team Leaders, Team Statistics and Team Standings saved to battery. Six modes of play include: Exhibition, League, Playoffs, Home Run Derby, Classic Home Run Derby, and Batting Practice. The game still features both a batter's box view while hitting and a three-quarter perspective for fielding. Pitching involves choosing between three pitches, one of three different speeds, and then aiming a cursor over the plate. Depending on the ability of the pitcher or pitch, the ball will either end up at the precise location or somewhere within the general vicinity. Batting relies on traditional timing or using a rectangular cursor to determine the point of impact.
