Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (Nintendo 3DS, 2013)

Product Specs
Description
Set several months after the events of Batman: Arkham Origins, and serving as something of a companion release to the console versions of that game, Blackgate once again finds players fighting crime as the Caped Crusader, albeit in a side-scrolling, 2.5D manner. A mysterious explosion at the titular prison let Joker, Penguin, and Black Mask each form a small army and take over sections of the penitentiary. Gamers guide Batman along a set path through a variety of 3D environments, engaging in hand-to-hand combat and using his detective vision and gadgets to reach new areas. As always, gamers engage in close-quarters combat, often battling multiple foes at the same time and moving between the background and foreground to avoid attacks. Various side missions and animated scenes help flesh out the game's story, and as players make their way through the cell block, industrial area, and administrative office they come into contact with characters like Solomon Grundy, Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, and Catwoman, and begin to form a working relationship with a younger James Gordon. Gamers can take on the various bosses in any order they wish, and Blackgate offers multiple endings.
