Konami's reboot of the famed Castlevania series concludes as gamers take control of Gabriel Belmont, now fully transformed into Dracula, as he battles foes in his gothic castle and through the streets of a modern city in Lords of Shadow 2. The combat system finds Dracula using his Blood Whip to string together ranged assaults and melee attacks when fighting the Brotherhood of Light and the forces of Satan. He can collect the blood of foes to transform his whip into the Void Sword, which absorbs health from enemies, or into large claws that can break through heavy defense. Each of Dracula's weapons has a series of exclusive combo attacks that grow in power the more they are used, and the great vampire can also briefly control enemies, turn into mist to avoid detection, stop time, and even transform into a dragon. Lords of Shadow 2 was designed to be less linear than its immediate predecessor, allowing gamers the freedom to explore an open world, while quick-time events have been greatly reduced, and players know have control over the game camera.
