NHL Powerplay 98 (Sony PlayStation 1, 1997)

Product Specs
Description
NHL Powerplay 98 skates its way onto the PlayStation with 26 NHL teams, 650 motion-captured NHLPA players (with ratings based on the 1996-97 season) and 3D polygonal graphics. Realistic moves such as skating backwards, fake shots, one-timers, stumble passes, hooking and user-controlled deflections have been included, with each move customizable on the controller configuration screen. Five different camera angles let you decide on how you want to view the action, including an overhead, diagonal, side, TV-style or vertical perspective. Choose from three languages (English, French or Dutch) and get ready to hit the ice in one of four game modes: Exhibition, Season, Playoffs and World Tourney (16 international teams). Other notable features include: statistical tracking saved to memory card; two-line pass rule; injuries and substitutions; instant replay; create and trade players; fighting; ability to assign specific strategies for four different scenarios (offense, defense, powerplay and penalty killing); and support for up to eight players with two Multi-Tap adapters. The PA Announcer will keep you informed on the time remaining, who scored and got the assist, as well as why your player is being sent to the penalty box!
