Product Specs
Description
An ominous being known as the Scourge is using the Red Lucense with evil intentions; he's amassed an elite force of foul monsters and hideous characters. Under his command, the army has enslaved the Moku civilization. In this desperate time of need, mankind is waiting for a hero. Contacted by Mira, Pitfall Harry Jr. has been given a purpose: to invade the city of Shenrak and eradicate the Scourge and his force of deviants. Harry must counteract the black magic with a Blue Lucense, restoring peace to the land. Based on Activision's PlayStation version, Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle features side-scrolling platform action with special items, lots of monsters and life threatening traps. Spanning 15 levels, Harry's adventure spans jungle settings, volcanoes, prisons and caverns; the environments are broken into separate levels. Armed with a pickaxe, you will traverse magma rivers, dodge falling boulders, hop between moving platforms, jump across gaping holes and maneuver past vanishing floors. Additionally, environments contain various challenges and enemies. For example, the jungle levels feature swinging vines and scorpion monsters while the caverns are riddled with deadly gas vents and icy conditions. Located throughout the levels are helpful icons including extra lives, gold bars, numerous crystals and health pickups. Endowed with cat-like agility, Harry is capable of jumping and crouching under enemy fire or obstacles. Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle supports a password save system for level progression and is compatible with the regular Game Boy and Game Boy Color handheld consoles.
