Visual Concepts is back for the NBA's 2000-01 season with NBA 2K1. Featuring the standard sports sequel technical upgrades like more motion-captured moves and improved graphics as well as updated rosters, NBA 2K1 also takes the series to another level with online play. Just as with NFL 2K1, this game allows two players to play against each other via the Internet. More users can take part in an online game by having up to four people on the same Dreamcast. Also new to the series are 50 players from the past, such as Wilt Chamberlain and Larry Bird, and a new mode of play that takes the action to the playground for some hoops action on the pavement. At the playground users can select to play anything from 2-on-2 to 5-on-5 basketball.
