This sequel to FIFA International Soccer brings together over 200 teams to compete for one of eight international cups in your choice of Tournament, Playoff or League modes--the latter offering full season play with multiple game injuries, suspensions and statistical tracking. New artwork and player animations now reflect volleys, half-volleys and diving headers, plus you can play your own victory sound by hitting the A, B or C buttons after scoring: choose from a drum, siren or famous "goooaaaal" chant. The developers also increased the speed of 1993's game with faster dribbling, passing and new give-and-gos. Goalies now aggressively cut-off shot angles instead of simply waiting back in the net, and defenders will closely follow their formations. Otherwise, the game uses the same three-quarter perspective as the original and offers substitutions, multiple team formations, instant replay, three skill levels, adjustable fouls and different weather conditions. Up to four players can compete cooperatively or competitively with the 4-Way Play adapter.
