Bomberman GB (Nintendo Game Boy, 1998)

Product Specs
Description
Bomberman GB is one of the Game Boy renditions of Hudson Soft's classic Bomberman series, which began on the NES in 1985. Gamers can play through the single-player Quest mode, try the Training mode, or participate in a four-player Battle mode using a Super NES and a Super Game Boy. In both the Quest and Training modes, players must advance through a series of levels eliminating all the monsters and meeting any other level-specific requirements. To accomplish this, players can guide Bomberman around levels dropping bombs. At the beginning of the game, Bomberman can only drop one bomb at a time with a very limited blast range. To lay multiple bombs simultaneously, as well as to increase the bombs' blast range, players must collect bomb and fire power-ups. Players can uncover power-ups by destroying the bricks found on each level. The game also offers players a variety of other power-ups with effects like whipping bombs away, jumping, or dashing. Bomberman dies if he's touched by a monster or gets caught in one of his own blasts. It is possible to continue games, but when players choose that option, they will start the level with one less bomb and fire power-up. A four-digit password system allows players to skip previously beaten levels.
