Before taking your character on the slopes, you'll want to equip him or her with gear -- choose from different costumes, authentic boards, and other snowboarding apparel! Coming directly from the real-life competition are the Big Air, Boarder Cross, Halfpipe, and Slopestyle events. Played with up to four players or against computerized-AI, the aptly named Big Air competition will have you vying for ultimate hang times. The Halfpipe is a heated points-based event that emphasizes showboating and trickery skills. Additionally, ESPN X Games Snowboarding features options that allow the player to traverse through customized terrain or to engage in a Freeride mode. The Freeride mode incorporates non-linear snowboarding gameplay that lets you go wherever you want; you can create your own paths across the steep hills and cruisers!
