Sony's ATV Offroad Fury series races back on to PlayStation 2, with new features and a return of the online multiplayer modes highlighted in the 2002 version of the game. In ATV Offroad Fury 3 players can choose from over two dozen all-terrain vehicles, each with more than 20 customizable parts. Races take place across more than 30 different courses, made up of ice, snow, mud, dirt, water, and grass terrain types. Mini-games include "tag," "treasure hunt," "king of the hill," and others. Up to six virtual racers can compete online, through the PS2 Network Adaptor, and real-time voice chat is supported for those with a compatible USB headset device. While earlier Offroad Fury releases came from Rainbow Studios, this 2004 edition was developed by Climax Group, which had previous success with its own cross-platform ATV: Quad Power Racing off-road racing games.
