Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete (PlayStation 1, 2000)

Description
A port of the 1995 Sega CD title, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete brings the magical tale of Hiro, Lucia, and their friends to the PlayStation with updated visuals and minor gameplay tweaks. A thousand years have passed since Dragonmaster Alex destroyed Ghaleon and rescued Luna. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants of the world, an evil presence is rising, with the sole purpose of reviving the evil Zophar and bringing about the end of the world in the process. Through a series of chance encounters, Hiro ends up meeting new friends and enemies. As fate guides him and his winged, cat-like companion Ruby towards their ultimate destiny, they'll find strength and courage to save their world, even if it means giving up what they love the most. As the game progresses, full-screen animation sequences further the storyline and reveal more about Hiro's companions: Ronfar, Jean and Lemina. With the exception of battles, the game is viewed from a top-down perspective. Unlike the random battles found in games like Final Fantasy, enemies in Lunar 2 are visible and can be avoided altogether if so desired. Battles are turn-based, allowing the party to engage the enemy with a variety of melee and spell attacks. Characters can be positioned at the front or back of the group, affecting both their attack and defensive capabilities. An option is also available to let the computer fight battles for you. Magic attacks are based upon the five elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Thunder, each having its own advantages and drawbacks. Though some characters are more adept magic users than others, each character will gain more advanced magic attacks as their levels increase. Working Designs has packaged the game with a host of extra collectibles. Featured in the set is a music CD of the game's soundtrack, a "Making of Lunar 2" CD, cardboard character standees, a full-size Lucia pendant, an overworld map, and a leatherette hardbound instruction manual.
