Real Pool (Sony PlayStation 2, 2000)

Product Specs
Description
The developers of Real Pool claim to have incorporated real-world physics into their game of billiards, emulating the spin, speed, and english of the game while offering players a number of different options to choose from. You have the option to play both traditional carom billiards games, where the object isn't to sink balls but rather to hit them all with the cue, or the more familiar pocket styles such as 8-ball or 9-ball, as well as several other versions of the game. There's also an exclusive mode called Bowliards, which combines both pool and bowling into a single experience. Real Pool has several play modes to choose from as well. You can choose a single-game that can be played versus a friend or the computer, whose difficulty level you can set in a sub-menu that lets you manipulate different aspects of the computer AI. If tournaments are more to your liking, you can choose from a number of different variants and then delve into a tourney where you take on eight different opponents who all have unique strengths and weaknesses. Or, if a puzzle challenge is more your style, Real Pool includes a Puzzle Mode with 25 differently shaped tables, where your task is to sink all of the pocket balls within a certain number of shots while avoiding the other balls.
