Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (Super Nintendo Entertainment System, 1995)

Product Specs
Description
A lazily produced reissuing of three great NES classics in one cartridge, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy includes Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, and Ninja Gaiden III. Each game remains faithful to its corresponding original in terms of gameplay, but the graphics have barely been updated (there are more colors and no flickering), the lightning in level 3-1 of the second game is missing and the backgrounds for the desert level in game three are totally non-scrolling. Passwords are a welcome addition, but the controls (B for attacking and A for jumping) are awkward and cannot be reconfigured. The most inexcusable disappointment is that the highly memorable music has been rearranged and otherwise altered for the worse. To see how a compilation of older games should be done, check out Super Mario All-Stars.
