The almost universally acclaimed (and by all accounts, supremely challenging) Asian action-adventure returns to Xbox in this enhanced edition. Along with the main campaign and play modes of the 2004 original, Ninja Gaiden Black offers new missions, new difficulty levels, and content from the game's two "Hurricane Pack" downloadable expansions. Players guide master ninja Ryu Hayabusa through a variety of Japanese settings, fighting enemies with such tools of the trade as katana, shuriken, and throwing knives, or calling upon the power of the ninja arts -- strong magic -- to vanquish foes. Ryu will also encounter a number of puzzles as he jumps, flips, and swings through complex levels. Familiar techniques from the 8-bit trilogy on the NES, such as the wall-spring jump, are featured in this 3D version as well.
