Once he was a little green ball of clay, but Gumby is now the star of his own video game, for the first time in this 2005 Game Boy Advance platform adventure. True to the characters and style of Art Clokey's 1950s claymation short films (and subsequent TV series), Gumby vs. the Astrobots finds the pliant protagonist once again at odds with his recurring rivals, the Blockheads. The Blockheads have captured all of Gumby's friends and trapped each of them inside a different book. To rescue his pals, Gumby makes his way through the side-scrolling levels of each piece of literature.
