Focusing more on fighting and less on backstory, this sequel to Naruto: Ninja Council follows the cartoon show but also offers players more character options, including the ability to switch between Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. Each character has a unique skillset, such as Sakura's smarts or Naruto's bravery, and the three heroes can also call for backup from Kakashi and Kiba. Naruto: Ninja Council 2 concentrates on boss battles that feature face-offs with multiple characters from the anime, who may jump in and fight during the middle of a stage. Along with individual skills, each playable character comes with a screen-filling magic Jutsu attack, such as a super-speed power up, a precision strike that slows time, or a stun move that paralyzes enemies. Two players may cooperate and finish the story together, and as many as four players may go head-to-head in a multiplayer brawler mode.
