Strider Hiryu is back. This time, however, he must confront the most sinister enemy he has ever had to face -- The Master. His path to defeating The Master is challenged by five stages of technologically advanced enemies and other obstacles. Along with his devastating trademark plasma sword, Strider uses his sickle to help him climb walls and cling from ceilings. He's also equipped with a limited number of shurikens that can destroy enemies from a great distance. Supplying more help to his cause, Strider has access to a shield at certain times in the game, which is powered by orbs collected from containers often carried by enemies. Other power-ups may strengthen or lengthen his sword, add to his life meter or give Strider an extra life. An options menu is available through which adjustments to difficulty ("normal" or "expert"), continues (3-5), music, sound effects, and game controls can be made. Also, the type of sword can be changed from "sweep" to the more powerful "original," which resembles the look of the sword used in the first Strider game. The evil of The Master must be vanquished. And the only person that can do so is you, Strider.
