Description

A conversion of the 1989 coin-op game, Golden Axe for the Master System features one playable character instead of three. Players guide a warrior named Tarik (known as Ax Battler in the arcade original) in a quest to defeat evil warlord Death Adder. The action is otherwise identical to the coin-op game, featuring hack-and-slash combat against waves of skeletons, knights, giants, and other creatures. While Golden Axe for the Master System is a one-player game only, Tarik can choose between three schools of magic at the start of play. Other changes from the arcade game include a new beginning and ending screen.
