Description
Years and years after a nuclear holocaust almost destroyed the entire world, the dust began to settle, and the Earth became a peaceful place on which to live. The survivors of the remaining nations learned to coexist and share technology. Eventually, mankind formed space stations on hundreds of planets throughout the galaxy. The Earth Defense League was formed to protect these new settlements. The primary vehicle for keeping the peace was the Assault Suit, a 12 foot tall armored battle machine, equipped with tons of weapons. A mysterious band of aliens called the Chron are headed for Earth. As commander ofan Assault Suit Wing at Jupiter's Ganymede Base, you must don one of the suits, whichhas the capability of carrying 14 different weapons (such as grenade launchers, missile pods, and laser beams), and fight off the enemy. You can also pick up defensive items, which include armor, shields, and a back pack that will temporarily give you the power of flight in gravity environments. As you run, fly, shoot, and swim through the eight stages of play, you will blast tons of enemies, all of whom wear either green or blue or fly in like-colored ships. Your allies, who cover you and shoot enemies from time to time, wear brown or fly in brown ships. Each stage in this game has a specific mission for you to accomplish. For example, in Stage 3 you must guard space shuttles; in Stage 5 you must defend the base against an enemy surprise attack; and in Stage 7 you must recapture the space colony and destroy a giant enemy war ship. At the end of the game, you must discover the true nature of the Chron.
