Great Volleyball includes all the moves of real volleyball. Players serve, set, spike, dink, block, and dig. Eight teams are available for selection: U.S.A., China, Japan, Cuba, U.S.S.R., Korea, Brazil, and France. No team is different from the other in terms of play style, they only differ in appearance. Before a game players get to distribute points in three categories: service, spike, and receiving. There are three modes of play: Practice, Goodwill Match, and Tournament. Practice allows players to practice serving and spiking the ball. Goodwill matches are one game matches against a second player or computer opponent. Tournament mode is where the game's focus is. Here teams must defeat four opponents in order to win the tournament. Each match win earns a team two more points that can be distributed to increase their team's skill.
