World Heroes Anthology contains the four games of SNK's early-'90s 2D fighting series on a single PS2 disc. Included are arcade-accurate ports of World Heroes, World Heroes 2, World Heroes Jet, and World Heroes Perfect. According to the game's back story, a brilliant scientist who has perfected time travel decides to use his invention to determine the greatest brawler in history. Players can choose from over 50 character variations, most based on historical or legendary figures and each with different speeds and strengths. Hanzo Hattori might face off against Rasputin, or Janne D'arc may battle Captain Kidd. Armed with appropriate weapons and special powers, history's most famous figures compete to become the all-time world champions in hand-to-hand combat.
