Kao the Kangaroo (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2001)

Product Specs
Description
Kao the Kangaroo has been kidnapped, and it's your job to guide him back to the Australian Outback. To return to his homeland, the boxing glove-wearing marsupial must make his way across 27 levels of side-scrolling platform action. To defend himself, Kao can punch, tail-whip, or jump onto the 16 different types of creatures that infest the game's many levels. Boxing glove power-ups can also be found in each level and for each one collected, Kao will be able to launch a single ranged boxing glove attack. By collecting the coins strewn about the levels, Kao can earn extra lives. Additionally, if he has the required flag in his possession, a restart point can be created anywhere in the level the player desires. Interspersed between the standard run-and-jump levels are a handful of stages which see Kao jet-skiing, flying, and even snowboarding to the next world. Hidden throughout the various themed environments (which include jungle, snow, and desert themes) are secret keys that can be used to unlock bonus levels. Use a secret key to enter a level filled with coins -- collect enough and you'll be rewarded with extra lives. Using a password save feature, players can record their progress between levels.
