Description

Players adopt and raise a virtual cat in Discovery Kids: Kitten Corner. The overall goal of the game is to nurture and care for the pet kitten, helping it to grow up to be healthy and live a happy life. Kittens can be customized, from a choice of as many as three dozen fur color and markings selections, some of which first need to be unlocked by playing the game before they are available. Players can explore different places with their kitten, visit the veterinarian, teach it tricks, and enter it in local contests to win prizes. There are 15 levels to explore and 20 mini-games to master. Some mini-games are played from the perspective of the trainer, using the touch screen to interact with the pet, as in the Nintendogs line of pet simulations. Other activities play out from a 3D perspective behind the kitten, with players in more direct control of the animal's dashes, leaps, and bounds. Based on the basic cable channel's programming, Kitten Corner is part of 505 Games' Discovery Kids alliterative line of pet simulations for Nintendo DS, along with Dolphin Discovery, Pony Paradise, and Puppy Playtime.
