Set in 16th-century Japan, a time and place of great Civil Wars, Nobunaga's Ambition puts you in the role of a daimyo (warlord), battling the cruel Oda Nobunaga for control of Japan. To rise to power, you must develop land, grow rice, conquer neighboring villages, manage the local economy, tax the people, deal with famineand natural disasters, sue for diplomatic peace (when the situation calls for it), and you must raise, pay, and feed armies. To gain support, boost your character's charisma, and achieve a high loyalty rating, you must give the peasants rice and gold. To win a single-player game, you must unite the 16 feudal fiefs (independently run sections of ancient Japan) under your control. In the two-player game, the winning player is the surviving daimyo. A built-in battery backup lets you save up to three games in progress.
