TransWorld Surf (Sony PlayStation 2, 2002)

Product Specs
Description
This PS2 release invites next-generation gamers to have a go at one of the original extreme sports, taking the role of one of 13 professional surfers and hitting the waves at such real-world locations as Fort Point, Huntington, Teahupoo, and Pipeline. The game's control system has been compared to that of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, with an emphasis on accuracy and timing when performing tricks. The TransWorld Surf also introduces an aspect of morality to extreme sports via the "Karma Meter," which is influenced by the surfer's ability to stay in bounds, avoid innocent swimmers, and demonstrate good sportsmanship toward the other competitors. Bad karma can leave one open to dangers such as shark attacks. Up to four players can hit the virtual waves in any of the game's four modes of play.
