NASCAR Heat 2002 (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2002)

Product Specs
Description
NASCAR Heat 2002 for Game Boy Advance is played from a three-quarter perspective as racers compete on 12 tracks in one of six modes: Arcade Mode, Single Race, Beat the Heat, Multiplayer, Time Trial, and Career Mode. Eight NASCAR drivers are available to play as or against, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Dale Jarrett, Sterling Marlin, Steve Park, Ricky Rudd, and Rusty Wallace. Arcade Mode is a single series where players attempt to advance through all 12 courses with the highest number of points. Each finish is worth a specific point value, with first place worth 175 points. An additional ten bonus points is awarded to the player who drives the most laps. Single Race is one event on a choice of tracks, with an option to play with or without pit stops. Beat the Heat involves advancing through a series of challenges, such as finishing a lap within a certain time or preventing certain cars from passing. Time Trial offers players the opportunity to hone their racing skills while competing for the fastest lap. Multiplayer supports up to four players using either a single cartridge or four cartridges, with the difference being the amount of customization permitted before the race begins. Having only one cartridge for multiplayer competition means races must take place on one track with random vehicles; multiple cartridges offer a selection of tracks and cars. Career Mode has players trying to earn the respect of one of five racing teams while embarking on multiple seasons. Pit stops are used in this mode to replenish fuel and replace worn tires. Career progress can be saved at the end of each race via battery backup.
