Description
"It's robot fightin' time!" The popular Comedy Central series, BattleBots, which features amateur robot builders pitting their creations against one another in heated combat, comes to the GBA, complete with the "Battlebox" arena as well as four new venues. BattleBots: Beyond the Battlebox features arenas full of traps and hazards, 16 actual winning bots from the show, and enough weapons, armor types, motors, and more to allow customization of more than a thousand automatons. Tournament mode challenges players to create their own robots and compete against actual bots from the television show to earn cash for more parts. Robot components include a chassis, mobility (tires), power source, engine, weapons, and armor. Damaged parts can be repaired or replaced between battles and in Arcade mode, random pick-ups offer increases in damage, armor, and power. Scoring is based on aggression, damage, and strategy, with three judges awarding up to five points in each category (45 is a perfect score). Using link cables, up to four players (each with a game pak) can compete in Brawl mode, which is a free-for-all robot rumble. Single-players can also play in Brawl mode, using their own creations against computer-controlled bots, or by fighting with the television winning bots. Win and loss records are not saved to team files in Brawl mode.
