Tonka Construction Site (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2002)

Product Specs
Description
Tonka Town, above and below ground, needs a lot of work! Players tackle over 50 missions using seven Tonka vehicles while monitoring gas, armor, and time deadlines. Five construction sites include Dove Canyon (the only locale available initially), The Black Hills, Deer Creek, White Falls, and Silver Lake, each involving unique tasks such as boulder removal, road grading, building construction, the clearing of waterways, and so forth. Successful completion of each job earns a password save and gold for use in upgrading equipment and trucks. Tonka Joe and friends are on hand to give advice between and during missions, and on-screen arrows and visual aids give players tips on how to complete missions. Players maneuver heavy loaders, dump trucks, road scrapers, and more to pick up on-screen power-ups that add more time (clocks), fuel (gas pumps and gas stations), and armor, which become particularly important in the later missions. Missions can end in failure by running out of time or gas, or by damaging a vehicle. Additionally, pre-mission briefings are followed by a short animated demonstration that shows how to accomplish each task, and a map is available to keep players oriented.
