Description
Capcom vs. SNK 2 makes its GameCube debut with an alternate control scheme designed to simplify some of the more complicated moves associated with the PlayStation 2 original. The "EO" in the title stands for Extreme Offense, which results in automatic blocking as well as a character's special and super moves being mapped to the yellow C Stick. Instead of tapping multiple buttons while manipulating the Control Pad in various positions, players simply flick the analog stick in a single motion to perform the most powerful attacks in the game. Veteran users can opt for a traditional control method in the six modes of play: Arcade, Versus, Survival, Training, and Color Edit. Players can further customize the fighting by choosing one of six grooves, which enable such actions as performing unlimited super combos when a character's vitality is near zero. Over 40 fighters from both Capcom and SNK's previous fighting games are available to play as or against, with selections from such noted franchises as Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Samurai Shodown, and Fatal Fury.
