Midway's NFL Blitz series continues with NFL Blitz 20-03 for the Nintendo GameCube. Previous incarnations of Blitz have focused on arcade-style football with fast-paced features, such as 30-yard first downs, no pass interference, and brutal open field "tackles" (with over 1,500 different animations). Players are portrayed in full 3D with real faces and sculpted physiques. Eight-on-eight football allows for plenty of wide-open action and creative play-calling with real NFL players, NFL teams, and updated rosters. Players will now be able to create their own characters with the Create-A-Player feature and take on the NFL's best. Fantasy players and fantasy stadiums have been added, with extraordinary locations and over-the-top characters. The new expansion Houston Texans, who joined the NFL in 2002, have been added with a projected roster. Game music has been licensed from industry superstars and appropriate arcade-style sound effects enhance the gridiron action.
