Backyard Hockey (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2003)

Product Specs
Description
Backyard Hockey makes its Game Boy Advance debut with a National Hockey League license and two modes of play: Season and Single Game. As in previous titles in the whimsical series, players can participate as one of ten professional athletes as children or form their team with a choice of 30 Backyard Kids. Each character is rated from one to ten in the following five attributes: shooting, passing, skating, defending, and goalkeeping. Featured NHL players include Joe Thornton, Mike Modano, Brian Leetch, Curtis Joseph, Jaromir Jagr, Steve Yzerman, Martin Brodeur, Joe Sakic, Paul Kariya, and Jarome Iginla. The action is played from a top-down view as players make their way up and down the rink for three periods of hockey. A number of arenas can be selected, and players are also permitted to make line changes in addition to selecting the individual members on their team. Both individual and team statistics are tracked during a season, and optional power-ups are also available to alter gameplay. Backyard Hockey is recommended by the publisher for ages seven and up, with head-to-head competition supported using a GBA Game Link Cable.
