VR Sports Powerboat Racing (Sony PlayStation 1, 1998)

Product Specs
Description
Gone are the days when a player had to stay on the track or road while racing. Now, players can fly through the air, float on the water, or sometimes both! Powerboat Racing, published under Interplay's VR Sports brand, is a game that has you racing a high-performance speedboat against a number of computer opponents. The game sports a number of modes, from the normal arcade mode, where players compete against computer-controlled racers in a number of locales, including New York, Nevada, Japan, Norway, England, Australia, England, Monaco, the Amazon and Russia. Players receive points for their overall finish, and can advance to the next round of competition if they earn enough points. There's also a shoot-out mode, where a player can pick a location and have a five-lap race against a computer-controlled player. The time trial mode allows players to try to beat their previous best lap times. The challenge mode allows a player to challenge the computer's best time against a ghost racer, and there's the all-purpose practice mode which allows you to perfect those twists and turns on each course. Of course, there is also a multiplayer mode, allowing you to race a friend on a split screen, so you can finally prove complete dominance. Get ready for some wet and wild racing!
