Description
Gex is back and so is his nemesis Rez in Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. This time the head of the crazy Media Dimension has grabbed Agent Xtra (played by Marliece Andrada of Baywatch fame) and Gex must once again venture into the land of bad TV parodies to rescue her. His every wisecrack and quip is voiced by comedian Dana Gould. Start in the secret underground GexCave, where Gex can jump on the green button in front of any of the TVs to warp into its level. He must find remote controls, however, to get into the static-filled ones, and there are bonus TVs which he can only get into once he's collected enough bonus coins. Finally, four secret TVs are hidden throughout the cave, and the completion of those levels will open the GexVault. Since no adventure game is complete without helper characters and items to help out along the way, Gex can turn to his butler Alfred or his prehistoric ancestor REX for assistance with puzzles or the secret levels. He can also tail whip his enemies or spit fire, ice or slime at them after swallowing special flies. Certain disguises, such as HercuGex, DracuGex or SherlockGex, give him special powers, and there are animals like burros, camels and kangaroos which can help him traverse sticky situations. There's even a tank and a snowboard hidden somewhere. There are 27 levels in all, including three which are exclusive to the Nintendo 64 version. Gex's tongue swing is also only available on this platform. Players can save their progress and come back to the game later with a Controller Pak and can feel every bump and jump along the way with a Rumble Pak.
