Metal Walker (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2001)

Product Specs
Description
Metal Walker is a top-down scrolling RPG featuring giant walking robots. According to the game's story, a new element known as "Core" is discovered in the near future. This rare substance allows for the creation of powerful robots that are so efficient at their work that the world quickly comes to depend on them, for both industrial production and protection. But an evil gang of giant robots has decided to take over the world's supply of Core, even stealing it from the robot husks of fallen rivals when possible. The player takes on the role of a young man who was traveling with his father in their giant robots when they were attacked by this band of malicious machinations. The father dies and the son must now avenge him. As the player moves through the fantasy world he can collect valuable data packages from hidden locations and fallen enemies. He'll also find special "Core Units," which will allow him to upgrade his robot. In appropriate Game Boy form, the giant robots are almost cute, displayed as metal spheres with limbs. Metal Walker is designed to run on both the Game Boy Color and the original Game Boy handhelds.
