World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2000)

Product Specs
Description
The explosive firepower found in 3DO's World Destruction League series can be taken on the road with the release of Thunder Tanks for the Game Boy Color. Played from an overhead perspective, the game involves maneuvering one of 12 tanks along a battlefield with the goal being to eliminate the opposition. A total of seven post-apocalyptic arenas are available to battle through, each with five separate levels: Moscow, Military, Industrial, Italy, Japan, Ice, and Atlantis. The terrain and architecture on a level will change depending on the locale. Four types of power-ups are available in each stage, allowing players to replenish lost health or increase their ammo for special weapons. Each tank has a distinct main weapon, such as a Gatling Gun or a Howitzer, along with two special abilities. These abilities range from fire blasts and turbo boosts to lasers and grenades. As players navigate the arenas, watching the radar to get a bearing on enemy tanks, they can destroy buildings for a chance to reveal hidden power-ups. Progress during the competition is resumed via passwords offered at the end of each stage.
