ECW: Hardcore Revolution (Nintendo Game Boy Color, 2000)

Product Specs
Description
ECW: Hardcore Revolution has been released for the PlayStation, N64 and Dreamcast console systems. Now Acclaim brings its first game to use the ECW license to the Nintendo Game Boy Color. Players can choose from one of ten ECW wrestlers, including fan favorites like Sabu and Rob Van Damme. Each wrestler can perform a variety of standard techniques like punches and suplexes, and can also perform a wrestler-specific finisher move. Wrestlers can also climb turnbuckles and throw themselves at opponents to inflict damage. The goal of the game is to wear the other wrestler down enough to be able to pin him for a three count. Each wrestler has a health bar and an energy bar. The health bars start at full and are depleted as wrestlers take damage. If the health bar turns yellow, the wrestler has a more difficult time recovering from a pin. If the health bar is red, the wrestler is in danger of being pinned. Whenever wrestlers perform techniques they add to their energy bar, located under the health bar. Wrestlers can perform their trademark finisher moves when this energy bar is fully charged. The game offers players a variety of modes. New players may want to learn the system in the Training Mode, while players short on time may want to arrange a Single Match. The game also has a Challenge Mode and a Career Mode for long-term play, as well as a Barbwire Mode for players looking for a brutal and hardcore experience.
