Skeleton Warriors (Sega Saturn, 1996)

Description
Based on the ill-fated CBS animated series that aired in 1994, Skeleton Warriors is a side-scrolling action game with 3D-rendered characters and backgrounds. As Prince Lightstar, players must vanquish Baron Dark's unyielding army of skeletons and other creatures through 20 levels of sword-swinging combat. Players can jump, slash, block, crouch, and even unleash projectiles to defeat the enemy. Special attacks are powered by crystals collected from vanquished monsters and during 3D racing sequences, which involve driving a vehicle called a "skybike." The play mechanics are otherwise typical of the genre, with the goal being to advance through each themed locale by fighting past enemies and defeating each area's boss character. Award-winning musician Tommy Tallarico composed the game's soundtrack.
