Based on the popular TV show, American Gladiators has players competing against Gladiators Ice, Gold, Gemini, and Laser in seven events: Joust, Wall, Powerball, Atlasphere, Human Cannonball, Assault, and the Eliminator. Graphics are grainy and cartoonish and repetitive music is used throughout most of the game. A two-player mode allowing players to compete in an elimination format is about its only saving grace. American Gladiators does provide minor enjoyment, though it mainly just frustrates and aggravates.
