A sequel to Worldwide Soccer, Sega Worldwide Soccer '97 builds upon Sega's soccer franchise and features soccer star Cobi Jones on the cover. This version has 48 international teams, three playing fields, and four modes of play. Modes of play include exhibition, world league, worldwide cup, and tournament. Three different playing views -- close-up, medium, and far away -- can be changed during the action. Stats are tracked through 25 categories but, other than Cobi Jones, none of the players are real. You can name the players anything you want though. Instant replay allows players to zoom in and out viewing the replay from any angle and a play-by-play announcer calls all of the on-field action. Sega Worldwide Soccer '97 also features player celebrations after a goal is scored.
