Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition includes three modes of racing: Arcade, Time Attack, and Two-Player Battle. In Arcade mode you pick a course from a list of five, select one of eight cars to use, decide if you want an automatic or manual transmission, and then race. Your objective here is to win the race or at least beat your current top score. Time Attack mode is basically the same thing as Arcade except you are primarily racing against the clock. You have the option of running eight laps or choosing the free run which lets you select a number of laps. In Two-Player Battle mode you have the choice of an eight lap race, 15 laps, or time lag. Time lag allows one of the players to receive a head start of up to nine seconds. Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition provides four different views for you to use while racing. Also included is a pit that will repair the body of your car that suffers damage when you crash; no refueling is necessary.
