NHL All-Star Hockey is the first hockey game to be released for the Sega Saturn. It features full NHL licensing allowing for all 26 NHL teams and all of their players from the 1995 season to be included. Providing all of the game commentary is sportscaster Marv Albert. The action can be viewed from nine different angles, including a puck cam. Instant replay is available that allows any play to be viewed again from any of the camera angles. Similar to real hockey, the game includes checking, hooking, high sticking, slap shots, penalties, injuries, power plays, one-timers, and almost everything else one would find in a real hockey game. Players can choose to play single exhibition games or try their hand at a full season. Team rosters can be manipulated through trading or calling players up from the minors.
