Promoting the pool industry on all levels since the 1940s, the Billiards Congress of America takes the game very seriously. Championship Pool for the Sega Genesis comes fully sanctioned by this respected organization. In Championship Pool there are four modes of play: Challenge, Tournament, Party, and Freestyle. When you choose the Freestyle mode, it's like owning your own pool table. You can invent rules, make up games, and practice trick shots. In the Tournament mode, you can shoot for the 8-Ball or 9-Ball World Championship. The Party mode lets up to eight players join in the fun. The Challenge mode is for one player to practice and test his or her skills such as shooting, speed, accuracy, and touch. In all of the modes of play, you can view instant replays, choose the song on the juke box, set the spin of the ball, and decide how hard you want to hit the ball.
