Cal Ripken Jr. Baseball lets you play as one of 18 teams (including two All-Star squads) in three different game modes: Exhibition, League Game or Home Run Derby. While team names and players are fictional, due to the lack of either a Major League Baseball or MLBPA license, Cal Ripken Jr. is available on the Baltimore roster. The game also includes three stadiums to choose from: Patrick Field, Maxwell Dome and Stevens Park. Batting involves timing the swing as the ball crosses the plate, and pitching relies on simply pressing one button. A traditional three-quarter perspective is used for fielding. Other notable features include substitutions, infield and outfield shifts, plus cinema screens on close plays. League games can be continued with a password.
